Data Requests This office follows the FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Acts) privacy mandates. IRDM does not release individual student information regarding financial need or admission type. See UNO's Notification of Rights Under FERPA. Is the data for an official report, such as program accreditation, grant reporting, or informational update for a departmental meeting? These questions guide us in selecting the best source. Data for accreditation purposes should come from official census data while a departmental status report needs the most current information. If individual information is to be shared with outside organizations, FERPA rules must be observed to protect students' rights. How can a request that sounds so simple be so complicated? Typical question: What is UNO's enrollment? What IRDM needs to know? Is this overall university enrollment or by individual college/department How IRDM accesses data We access multiple PeopleSoft databases. Each semester a "data slice" freezes data as of the 14th Class Day into a separate database. The 14th day is UNO's official census day and this ensures that all mandatory reporting (system, state, and federal) uses consistent information. We also use "live" or production data for reports. This database changes daily as offices add information. Data Request FormAfter reviewing numerous emailed requests for data, IRDM developed a standard Request Form. Although not mandatory, it steers the request through various options such as student academic level, time period, demographics. Suggestions for improving the form are welcomed at irdm@uno.edu The form is an excel file that you should save to your desktop, fill in the information, resave it and email to IRDM.
